Cristian Benitez, a 20-year-old male, was last seen on July 3, 2010, near Roma, Texas, while attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border. Cristian was part of a group that crossed the Rio Grande River after his family sent money to facilitate his journey. According to reports, the group was encountered by Border Patrol, causing them to scatter. The guide later claimed that everyone in the group was accounted for, except Cristian and another person, who was reportedly found deceased.
