Ctormy Braaden Lawrence Taylor was 23 years old when he was last seen in Grand Junction, Colorado. On the evening of May 26, 2014, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Ctormy, his girlfriend, and a friend were rafting on the Colorado River. The group was using a raft that was not suitable for the river's conditions and none of them were wearing life jackets. Their journey took a tragic turn when their raft struck a piling of the 5th Street bridge and capsized.
Following the accident, Ctormy's two friends managed to swim to the shore and were rescued. However, Ctormy was last seen struggling to swim towards the riverbank just past the confluence of the Colorado and Gunnison rivers. He disappeared into the water and has not been seen or heard from since. An extensive search was launched for Ctormy, which continued for months but yielded no results. The initial intensive search was scaled back after a few days, with a boat patrolling the river daily to look for any sign of him.
A month after his disappearance, in June 2014, a significant clue surfaced when Ctormy's cell phone was discovered in the Onion Creek beach area near Moab, Utah. Despite this discovery, there have been no further leads in his case. At the time of his disappearance, Ctormy was described as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes, standing between 5'7' and 5'9' and weighing between 130 and 150 pounds. He had a tattoo of gears on his right arm and was last seen wearing black basketball shorts with a silver stripe on each leg. The investigation into his disappearance remains with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. The circumstances surrounding the rafting accident and the subsequent lack of findings have left his case unresolved, with him being presumed drowned.
