Marina Pearl Boelter, an 18-year-old from Bloomfield, Indiana, was last seen on December 31, 2014, after finishing her shift at the IGA grocery store. She was spotted leaving the store around 6:00 p.m., getting into a silver or beige Mercury Milan, driven by a middle-aged man. This man, who had prior convictions for abduction and attempted rape, claimed to have dropped Marina off at a closed-down pizza restaurant, as she didn't want him to know her home address.
However, she never made it home, and no further traces of her have been found.
Marina's disappearance was reported the next day when she failed to show up for work and missed a scheduled visitation with her young son. Her phone, purse, and other personal belongings were missing from her residence, but there were no signs of a struggle. Six weeks later, her ex-boyfriend, Douglas Lockhart, was stabbed to death in an unrelated incident.
Despite investigations and several leads, Marina's case remains unsolved. She was described as having blonde hair, blue eyes, and a distinctive tattoo of a star with butterfly wings on her foot. Her disappearance continues to be a mystery, and authorities have not named any suspects in the case.
