Betty Jean Ann Carlton, age 41, was last seen on July 12, 2008, in Bloomfield, Indiana. Witnesses reported seeing her standing in knee-deep water under the Veteran's Memorial Bridge, which crosses the White River in Elliston. On July 11 and 12, several individuals noted her behaving oddly in the area, but she has not been seen since. While there were later sightings of a person floating downstream in a life jacket, it remains unclear whether this individual was Betty.
