Joseph Paul Gauthier, age 32, was last seen on April 29, 2015, in Nederland, Texas. That evening, he told his wife he was going for a ride, which was not unusual, as he often visited a friend's home and returned shortly afterward. However, later that night, around 11:45 p.m., his white Dodge truck was discovered on the Rainbow Bridge, which connects Port Arthur and Bridge City, Texas.
The truck's engine was still running, and some of his personal belongings, including his shoes, were found inside. Despite an extensive search, Gauthier has not been seen since.
Initially, authorities speculated that Gauthier might have taken his own life by jumping from the bridge. However, his wife and family have expressed doubts, suggesting that foul play could be involved. They hired a private investigator to look deeper into the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. Although no definitive conclusions have been reached, the case remains open, with both law enforcement and Texas EquuSearch involved in the investigation.
