Trevor Moore, a 30-year-old sailor who competed in the 2012 Olympics, was last seen on June 25, 2015, in Coconut Grove, Florida. He left the U.S. Sailing Center in his 16-foot inflatable powerboat, but by 5:00 p.m., his boat was found adrift near Dinner Key Marina. The engine was still running, and his personal belongings, including his wallet and life jacket, were still on board, but Trevor was nowhere to be found.
A large-scale search operation was launched, involving multiple agencies like the U.S. Coast Guard and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. Over 500 square nautical miles were searched, but despite the extensive efforts, no sign of Trevor was found. After three days, the official search was suspended. Friends and family continued private search efforts, raising funds to support their mission, but Trevor remains missing and is presumed to have been lost at sea.
