In the spring of 1969, a young U.S. Army soldier named Robert Joseph Newborg, known to his friends and family as Bob, was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado. At 21 years old, he stood at five feet eight inches with brown hair and brown eyes. He was at the beginning of his adult life, serving his country amidst the backdrop of the vast and rugged landscape of the Rocky Mountains.
