Loretta Skinner Phillips, 74, was last seen on August 3, 1980, while en route to California to stay with relatives. She departed from Marion County, Indiana, but never reached her destination. On August 27, 1980, her vehicle was discovered abandoned near Murphysboro, Illinois, by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department.
