In the vast and unforgiving wilderness of Alaska, 27-year-old Jason Daniel Harper embarked on a challenging solo expedition on May 4, 2004. An experienced and physically fit climber, he set out to conquer the formidable 16,237-foot Mount Sanford, located within the expansive Wrangell-St. Elias National Park.
