On July 28, 2006, a sense of routine turned into an enduring mystery when 41-year-old Ian Beer, along with two other pilots, vanished into the Alaskan sky. The men had departed from Kenai, Alaska, in a blue and white, four-seat Aero Commander plane, embarking on a 65-mile flight to Anchorage that they would never complete.
