Mahfuza Rahman, a 30-year-old nurse, was last seen on December 8, 2015, after leaving her job at Bellevue Hospital and returning to her Bronx home. Her husband, Mohammad Chowdhury, initially told her coworkers that Mahfuza had gone to Bangladesh to care for her injured parents. However, her parents had not been in an accident and hadn't heard from her. Chowdhury later fled to Bangladesh with their daughter, and police found Mahfuza's belongings at their residence.
