In the early morning hours of January 14, 2016, a 30-year-old man named Steven E. Whitenight Jr. vanished from Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. He was in the midst of his newspaper delivery route, a second job he held in addition to his work at a local Domino's Pizza. The last confirmed sighting of him was at approximately 3:30 a.m. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing an orange hunting jacket, a dark blue Denver Broncos hooded sweatshirt over his Domino's work shirt, black pants, black sneakers, and a Denver Broncos knit cap. Steven, a white male with brown, buzz-cut hair and hazel eyes, also wore eyeglasses.
The circumstances surrounding Steven's disappearance are unsettling. A portion of the newspapers he was scheduled to deliver were discovered on the porch of his residence on West Main Street, suggesting his route was abruptly interrupted.
His vehicle, a white 1997 Ford Probe GT, was found abandoned near the Bloomsburg Municipal Airport on Airport Road. Inside the car were his cell phone and the keys left in the ignition. A single set of footprints in the snow led from the car onto a nearby bridge that crosses the Susquehanna River, but the trail stopped there.
