Louis Salazar, a 46-year-old man, was last seen on September 3, 2016, in Hesperia, California. His family reported him missing on September 8, 2016, after not hearing from him. On September 11, his abandoned vehicle was located on Forest Service Road 2N49 near State Highway 138 in the Lake Silverwood area. The location of the vehicle raised concerns, as it was found in a remote area without any sign of Salazar.
