Shawn Higgins, a 41-year-old man, went missing on October 14, 2016, during a hunting trip in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, about 45 miles east of Gold Beach, Oregon. Higgins was hunting in the remote Shasta Costa drainage area with his son Trevor and Trevor's uncle. The group decided to split up to cover more ground, with plans to reunite later in the day.
