On May 24, 1980, 38-year-old Larry Hill disappeared during a boating accident on Palisades Reservoir in Idaho. He was aboard a 14-foot aluminum boat with his 7-year-old son Rex Hill, Laddie Schiess, Schiess’s 10-year-old daughter Toni, and four other individuals. The boat, intended for a fishing trip, capsized approximately 100 yards from the shore near Big Elk Creek due to harsh weather and rough waters, with the surface temperature around 51 degrees.
