Warren G. Wise, a 26-year-old man from Dover, Ohio, went missing on June 16, 1981, while canoeing with a friend on the Tuscarawas River near the Wooster Avenue bridge. That morning, Wise and his friend embarked on their canoeing trip, but only the canoe and his friend's body were recovered several days later. Wise, however, was never found. His vehicle was discovered parked near the boat docks by the river, further deepening the mystery of his disappearance.
