Cathern Davis, 32 years old at the time, was last seen on June 9, 1982, in Los Angeles, California. She was described as being 5'3" tall, weighing 115 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. On the day of her disappearance, she was wearing pink knit pants with white trim, a white short-sleeved shirt, and blue-and-black footies. Cathern was also known to use the last name "Grey" and sometimes spelled her name "Catherine."
Cathern was involved in drugs and
prostitution, which led authorities to suspect foul play in her disappearance. Her family later speculated that she could have been one of the victims of the Grim Sleeper serial killer, Lonnie Franklin Jr. Franklin, who was active in the same area during the 1980s, targeted African-American women, many of whom were involved in similar activities. Though Cathern has not been definitively linked to Franklin’s known victims, her case remains unsolved. Franklin was convicted of several murders and died on death row in 2020, leaving lingering questions about additional victims.
Despite investigations, Cathern has never been found, and her case continues to puzzle investigators. The Los Angeles Police Department remains the primary agency handling her case.Last Seen: Jun 9, 1982
