Frank Joseph Damato Jr., 28, was last seen on December 21, 1983, in San Francisco, California. A commercial fisherman, Damato was believed to have gone out on his boat, the *Lillian D.*, possibly to test his fishing equipment or scout for herring ahead of the upcoming fishing season. His boat was later discovered adrift near Yerba Buena Island and the Bay Bridge at 1:00 a.m., with its engine idling and electronic equipment, including radar, still on.
