In the late summer of 2015, 33-year-old Stacy Renee Baham, who also used the name Stacy Cook, disappeared from Livingston Parish, Louisiana, leaving behind a young child and a case that continues to baffle investigators. The last confirmed contact with her family was on August 10, 2015, in Holden, Louisiana. The following day, a friend saw her in the Gonzales area of Ascension Parish. The circumstances leading up to her disappearance involved personal turmoil, as she had recently ended a relationship with her boyfriend. Concern for Stacy's welfare grew when her father reported her missing on August 17, 2015, after learning that she had left her child with a friend and never returned. The investigation into Stacy's disappearance uncovered a few puzzling clues. Authorities learned that after her breakup, she had taken her ex-boyfriend's vehicle. This vehicle was spotted in the early morning hours of August 12, around 5 a.m., in the Maurepas area. It is believed this is the last time anyone had contact with her. More than two weeks later, on August 29, the vehicle was discovered abandoned and out of gas off of Louisiana Highway 22 in Maurepas. There was no sign of Stacy at the scene. Stacy is described as a white female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 5'5" tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. She has several distinctive tattoos, including a heart on her left breast, a butterfly on her left shoulder, a tribal design on her lower back, and a peace symbol on her right arm. Despite the passage of time, the search for answers in Stacy Baham's case continues. The Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office has repeatedly asked for the public's assistance, urging anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward. They have encouraged anyone who might have seen her or the stopped vehicle, or perhaps offered her assistance on the morning of August 12, 2015, to contact them. Detectives have continued to follow up on all leads, working with law enforcement in surrounding parishes in their efforts to locate her. The case is an overview of a mother who vanished after a relationship ended, leaving behind an abandoned vehicle and a family desperate for resolution. Her disappearance remains an active and unsolved investigation.
