On the day of his disappearance, Charles left his family's ranch, where he had been living with his father, to help a friend move to Modesto. He was seen leaving with an unidentified white female in a late-model white SUV. Surveillance footage later confirmed that Charles had visited Gray's Mart in Somerset and the El Dorado Savings Bank in Diamond Springs before checking into a Best Western
Inn in Jackson, California, alongside the same woman. He checked out the next day, on October 3, but was never seen or heard from again.
Despite investigations by the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department, including tracking his movements from that day, no leads have surfaced regarding his whereabouts. His family reported him missing when he did not return home as expected, and law enforcement has since labeled his case as a cold case.
