Claudia Lisseth Sanchez Reyes, a 21-year-old mother from Garden Grove, California, was last seen on May 6, 2016, after leaving her shift at El Pollo Loco. She was picked up by her husband, Eddy Reyes, in a rented SUV after a day of arguments. Despite his claims of dropping her off later that evening, Claudia was never seen again.
Their marriage had been troubled, with a history of domestic abuse, and Claudia had filed multiple restraining orders against Eddy in the years leading up to her disappearance. On May 7, a day after she vanished, messages from Claudia’s phone were sent to her family and attorney, suggesting she had left for New York with another man. However, further investigation revealed no evidence to support this, and instead, authorities found a drop of her blood and traces of human remains in the rented SUV. In April 2021, Eddy Reyes was charged with kidnapping resulting in death. He eventually pleaded guilty in 2024, admitting to the abduction and murder, although Claudia’s body has never been recovered.
