On August 19, 2016, 27-year-old Janson Alex Brewer disappeared from St. Joseph, Tennessee, leaving his family and community with unanswered questions that persist to this day. He was last seen with a friend, Daniel 'Shawn' Braden, with plans that remain uncertain; the two may have been heading to Florida for reasons ranging from a fishing trip to picking up another vehicle. Brewer was driving his distinctive 1994 silver Ford Ranger pickup truck with a step-side bed. Since that day, neither Brewer, Braden, nor the truck has been definitively located. The last potential sighting of Brewer was reported on August 20, 2016, at a mall in Florence, Alabama, but this lead, like all others, did not lead to his whereabouts.

Janson Brewer is described as a white male, standing between 5'8' and 6'0' tall and weighing around 175 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has several notable tattoos, including a double-barreled shotgun on his left forearm, a 'rock on' hand sign on his upper right shoulder, and the words 'life' and 'death' tattooed on his hands. He also has scars on his right elbow and right hip. Known as a devoted father and a giving person by his loved ones, his absence created a void in the lives of his family, including his children. His family has described the pain of not knowing what happened to him as an unending torment.

The investigation into Brewer's disappearance, handled by the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, has been fraught with difficulties and a lack of concrete evidence. Over the years, numerous leads and rumors have been pursued, some leading to searches of properties and even septic tanks, but all have come up empty. The family has publicly expressed their frustration and pain, feeling that the case has not received the attention it deserves and advocating for greater involvement from state and federal agencies. The disappearance of Janson Brewer and Daniel Braden remains an active and unsolved missing persons case. With no significant breakthroughs, the family continues to hold out hope for closure, pleading for anyone with truthful information to come forward. The case is a heartbreaking example of how a person can vanish, leaving behind a family left to navigate a world of uncertainty and grief.
