Clavin, a 23-year-old sailor from Lincoln, Rhode Island, was last seen on June 6, 2017, during a training mission aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS *Normandy*, about 80 miles off the coast of Cherry Point, North Carolina. While at sea, Clavin went overboard around 3 p.m., sparking an immediate man-overboard response.
