In the late summer of 2020, a 51-year-old man named Joseph Gibbons vanished from his life in Fayetteville, North Carolina. On September 16, he made a phone call to a friend, a seemingly ordinary conversation that ended with the promise to talk again later. However, that promised conversation never happened.
