Richard Danis, aged 26, was last seen on February 1, 1982, off the coast of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Danis, along with two other men, Darren Lavigne and Raymond Gregoire, was aboard a 40-foot gillnetter fishing vessel named *Chica* when the boat sank approximately 40 miles southeast of Biddeford Pool. The cause of the sinking is unknown, and despite search efforts, only a hatch cover from the vessel was ever recovered.
