Cheryl Lynn Carter, a 37-year-old woman, was last seen on September 7, 1982, at her home on Palmer Creek Road in Sonoma County, California. On the day of her disappearance, her two children went to school, and when they returned, their mother was gone. She has not been seen or heard from since. Cheryl, who suffered from severe allergies, was 5'6", weighed 103 pounds, and had short brown hair and hazel eyes at the time.
Over the years, there has been speculation regarding possible foul play in her case. Serial killer Joseph Naso was investigated for potential involvement due to a cryptic handwritten list he kept, which included a mention of a "Girl near Healdsburg," corresponding to Cheryl's disappearance. Although Naso was convicted of other murders, his connection to Cheryl's case remains inconclusive, and her case is still classified as unsolved.
