In the quiet woods of Southern Oregon, a mystery began to unfold around the disappearance of 23-year-old Kevin Gordon Hill. He was a young man who was last seen in the area of the Oregon Caves near Cave Junction on February 28, 1987. The circumstances of his vanishing are surrounded by a few puzzling clues that have left his family and investigators searching for answers for decades. What started as a solo trip into the wilderness has turned into a long and heart-wrenching cold case, leaving more questions than answers in its wake. The passage of time has not diminished the hope of finding out what happened to Kevin on that late winter day. The last known sighting of Kevin placed him inside the Oregon Caves. His motorcycle was later discovered abandoned near this location, suggesting he had arrived with the intention of exploring the area. A campsite was also found nearby, containing some of his personal items and identification, which solidified the belief that he had been staying there. Adding another layer to the enigma, his car was subsequently found abandoned in Yakima, Washington, which was where he had last lived. It is believed that Kevin may have driven his car to Yakima and then used his motorcycle to travel into Oregon. After these discoveries, Kevin Hill was not seen or heard from again, and the trail of his whereabouts went cold, leaving a void in the lives of those who knew him. Kevin was a white male, standing at 6 feet tall and weighing between 150 and 160 pounds. He had brown, curly hair and brown eyes, for which he wore contact lenses. A noticeable scar was present under his right eyebrow. At the time of his disappearance, it is thought he may have been wearing a black motorcycle outfit and black motorcycle boots. He also wore a gold ring with a black stone and a diamond, as well as a gold necklace. The investigation into his disappearance has remained open, with law enforcement agencies in both Oregon and Washington having been involved. The discovery of his abandoned motorcycle, campsite, and personal effects near the caves, coupled with his car being left in another state, paints a perplexing picture. The lack of any further evidence or contact has left his case an enduring mystery, a story without an ending for a young man who seemingly vanished into the wilderness.
