On the evening of December 3, 2007, a LifeGuard Alaska helicopter embarked on what should have been a routine medical transport flight from Cordova to Anchorage. Onboard was 60-year-old Gaye Gardner McDowell, a patient from Cordova who was being flown to Providence Alaska Medical Center for treatment.
