Henry Wilson was a 45-year-old man from Cookeville, Tennessee, when he was last seen on May 9, 2018. That evening, Henry was with Kristie Wilson, his girlfriend, who shared his surname. According to published case accounts, Henry picked Kristie up from her aunt's home in Monterey at about 8:00 p.m. The couple later stopped at Tom's Market to purchase cigarettes, and that became the last confirmed sighting of either of them. They were traveling in a charcoal-gray 2001 Nissan Sentra with Tennessee license plate 310DVD. The car was distinctive because it had sun-damaged paint, rear-bumper damage and tires in poor condition. After that night, Henry and Kristie stopped communicating with their loved ones, and neither returned home. Their unexplained silence caused growing alarm among family members, who reported them missing and began a painful search for answers.

Henry was described as a white man with blue eyes, a balding head and a build of approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall and 155 to 165 pounds. He commonly wore a ball cap and had a tattoo on his right arm. As investigators reconstructed the couple's final known movements, they learned that one of their cellular telephones had last connected with a tower near Highway 85, somewhere between the communities of Allred and Wilder. Monterey police conducted an extensive search in the region, but Henry, Kristie and their vehicle remained missing through the first months of the investigation. The disappearance was especially troubling because two people and the car in which they were traveling had seemingly vanished together, leaving investigators with few physical clues and the families with no reliable explanation of what had happened after the market stop.

A significant development came on September 28, 2018, when the couple's gray Nissan Sentra was discovered down an embankment in Fentress County. Although the recovery of the vehicle gave investigators an important piece of evidence, Henry and Kristie were not found with it. The abandoned and damaged car deepened fears about their safety while leaving the central questions unresolved: how the vehicle reached the embankment, where the couple had gone afterward and whether anyone else had been involved. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation had joined the inquiry in August 2018, working with local authorities to investigate the couple's whereabouts. For more than three years, the case remained a prolonged source of grief and uncertainty for those who cared about Henry and Kristie.

The search reached a tragic turning point in late October 2021, when authorities recovered human remains from a remote area of Overton County. The remains were believed to be those of Henry and Kristie, and subsequent official reporting identified the discovery as the recovery of the missing couple. The investigation then led authorities to Ryan "Bo" Cravens and his father, Robert Cravens. In November 2021, an Overton County grand jury returned indictments charging both men in connection with Henry's and Kristie's deaths. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported that information developed during the investigation identified the father and son as responsible, transforming what had begun as an effort to locate two missing people into a criminal case seeking accountability for their deaths.

The case eventually proceeded to trial, where Ryan and Robert Cravens were each found guilty of two counts of voluntary manslaughter, two counts of abuse of a corpse and one count of tampering with evidence. Those verdicts provided an official measure of accountability, but they could not undo the years during which Henry's family endured uncertainty or the devastating confirmation that he had not survived. Henry Wilson's case began with an ordinary evening trip in May 2018, followed by an abrupt and inexplicable loss of contact. It continued through searches along Highway 85, the discovery of the couple's car in Fentress County and more than three years without definitive answers. It ended with the recovery of Henry's and Kristie's remains in rural Overton County and the convictions of two men responsible for concealing what happened. In overview, Henry was a 45-year-old Cookeville man who disappeared alongside Kristie Wilson on May 9, 2018; their vehicle was recovered months later, their remains were found in 2021, and the long investigation ultimately established that both had died and resulted in criminal convictions connected to their deaths.
