Mizra Ahmed Ali Baig, a 26-year-old student originally from Hyderabad, India, was last seen by his roommate on July 20, 2018, in the Bronx, New York. After being reported missing, there were concerns that Baig might have been abducted, as he had expressed distress and claimed to be receiving threatening calls from local individuals. His family feared for his safety, especially since none of his documents were found in his apartment when authorities conducted a check.
