Raymond Carey, a 16-year-old from Bloomfield, Connecticut, was last seen on October 25, 1963. That evening, he left his home at 7:15 p.m., initially planning to see a movie, but his plans changed, and he instead went to a bowling alley before attending a Pi Kappa Sigma sorority dance at the Lithuanian Dance Hall in Hartford.
