Swanton Wyman Jr., a 47-year-old lobsterman from Phippsburg, Maine, went missing on October 5, 1981. On that day, he set out alone on his boat to check his lobster traps, a routine activity for him. However, later that evening, his boat was found adrift approximately 2.5 miles offshore from Phippsburg with some lobster traps still aboard.
