About a month later, on January 25, 1984, her brown 1973 Ford Maverick was found abandoned near Greyhound Rock, off Highway 1 in Davenport, California.
The car appeared to have been sitting there for weeks, and its discovery deepened the mystery surrounding Barbara's case. Barbara frequently visited Santa Cruz on weekends, as her boyfriend lived in the area, which raised concerns that she might have headed there before her disappearance.
