Vicente Gaona, age 20, was last seen on February 2, 2000, near Salton City, California. His disappearance occurred under troubling circumstances. Vicente was reportedly attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border when the individuals who were smuggling him demanded more money for his passage. After this demand, Vicente was not heard from again, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
