Doris Elaine McIntosh, age 78, was last seen on July 25, 2009, in Carthage, Texas. She was driving home late at night after visiting her husband, who was hospitalized. At around 1:00 a.m., she stopped at a residence in Del Ray, Texas, to ask for directions, as she appeared disoriented. Although she received the directions and left, she turned the wrong way, prompting the homeowner to call the police out of concern for her safety. Unfortunately, authorities were unable to locate her.
Four days later, McIntosh’s SUV was discovered stuck in the mud near an oil and gas drilling site off County Road 173. The vehicle was unlocked, with the heater on, and her keys and purse missing. Despite an extensive search of the surrounding area, no trace of McIntosh has been found. It’s believed that she may have wandered away from the vehicle seeking help, but her exact whereabouts remain unknown.
McIntosh had no known formal diagnosis of dementia, but she may have been experiencing confusion at the time of her disappearance. Her case remains unsolved, and the authorities continue to encourage anyone with information to come forward.Last Seen: Jul 25, 2009
