Loren James Ruden, a 52-year-old Oceanside, California resident, went missing on September 9, 2013, after setting out for a fishing trip on his 21-foot boat, *The Lucky Dog*. He was last seen by his wife that morning. Later that day, around 7:00 p.m., a man found Loren's dog, Sadie, swimming near an Oceanside jetty and returned her to Loren’s home.
