A Quiet Life on the Water
Marshall Rand Ellington, a 53-year-old resident of Fort Pierce, Florida, led a modest and somewhat reclusive life aboard a dry-docked houseboat at Riverside Marina, colloquially known as "the Maine houseboat." Standing at 5'11" and weighing approximately 135 pounds, Ellington was a Caucasian male with brown eyes and a mustache. He suffered from mental illness, which may have contributed to his isolated lifestyle. Despite his seclusion, he maintained regular contact with his family, particularly his sister, Ashley Vitale .
The Last Known Contact
On September 15, 2017, Ellington made a phone call to his sister. During the conversation, Vitale noted that he sounded intoxicated. This was the last time anyone heard from him.
