A Family’s Sudden Disappearance

On October 6, 2019, nine-year-old Brooke Roberts vanished alongside her parents, John Roberts and Julie Englehart, from Hesperia, California. The family had recently returned to Hesperia after living in Ozark, Alabama, since 2017. Upon their return, they resided at a Motel 6 on Cataba Road during September and early October . The last known contact was a phone call Julie made to a relative, stating she had found a job cleaning used trailers in the High Desert area and that the family was moving to a location near Spring Valley Lake. Julie promised to call the next day but never did. Since that call, no one has heard from or seen any of the family members .

Delayed Missing Persons Report

Despite their disappearance in 2019, the family was not officially reported missing until 2021. This delay has raised questions and concerns about the circumstances surrounding their vanishing. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department has been investigating the case but has not released details about the reasons for the delayed report. The lack of immediate reporting has potentially hindered the investigation, as crucial time was lost in the early stages when leads are most viable .

Physical Descriptions and Age Progression

At the time of her disappearance, Brooke Roberts was described as a Caucasian female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing approximately 4 feet 3 inches tall and weighing around 50 pounds . Age-progressed images have been released to assist in the search, depicting what she might look like at age 15 . Her parents, John Roberts and Julie Englehart, were both 49 years old at the time they went missing .

Investigation Efforts and Public Appeals

The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department has appealed to the public for any information regarding the family's whereabouts. Detective Jason Schroeder is leading the investigation and can be contacted at the Hesperia Sheriff's Station . Authorities have also collaborated with national organizations, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, to disseminate information and age-progressed images to a broader audience ....Read More
