On the afternoon of September 2, 1983, 19-year-old Myra Manley left her father's residence at the Presidential Apartments on City Line Avenue in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She intended to swim in the apartment complex pool but never returned.
Myra was last seen around 3:30 p.m., taking a bag of garbage to the dumpster. She mentioned to a family member that she was heading to the pool. That was the last time anyone saw or heard from her.
At the time of her disappearance, Myra was 5'5" tall and weighed between 100 and 110 pounds. She had brown hair, which may have been dyed blonde, and green or hazel eyes. Distinctive features included a mole on her right breast, a prominent scar on her right hand near the palm, and extensive dental work, including previous orthodontic braces and a repaired chipped upper front tooth.
