Yahorany “Nani” Popoca, a 29-year-old resident of Haines City, Florida, was fatally shot on Sunday, June 30, 2024. The incident occurred as she arrived at her workplace, a restaurant in the area.

The perpetrator of the crime has been identified as Rolando Zarate, who was Nani's estranged boyfriend. According to reports, the shooting was a result of their tumultuous relationship.
