On April 28, 1997, the small mountain town of Tehachapi, California, was shaken by the sudden disappearance of 10-month-old Austin Cole Hernandez. His mother, Rhonda Acord, returned home to find both her infant son and her husband, Gilbert Arredondo Hernandez, gone.
Gilbert Arredondo Hernandez, born on March 15, 1965, was Austin's non-custodial father. He had previously threatened to take Austin away from Rhonda.
Gilbert may have been driving a brown 1986 Nissan Maxima with California license plate number 1NRE732.
A local arrest warrant was issued for Gilbert on May 28, 1997, by the Kern County Sheriff's Office after he was charged with parental abduction. A federal arrest warrant was issued on November 4, 1997, in the United States District Court, Eastern District of California, Bakersfield, California, after he was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution. ...Read More
