Geneva Beatrice Long, known affectionately as "Jeanne," was a 27-year-old mother of two who vanished on July 29, 1950, from Bakersfield, California. At the time, she was separated from her husband, Joseph Ernest Long, and living with her parents along with their two young sons. Geneva and Joseph had planned to reconcile, and Joseph came to pick her and their children up from her parents’ home.
