A Quiet Life in Remote Alaska 

Donald Edward Hussen, a 67-year-old man, was a resident of Manley Hot Springs, Alaska—a secluded community nestled at the end of the Elliott Highway. Known for its natural hot springs and tight-knit population, Manley Hot Springs is a place where everyone knows each other. Hussen lived near the 134 Mile marker of the Elliott Highway, leading a life that, by all accounts, was peaceful and routine. His sudden disappearance in August 2019 sent shockwaves through this small community and remains a mystery to this day. 

The Night of Disappearance

On the evening of August 2, 2019, around 10:00 p.m., Hussen was last seen on foot at his residence near 134 Mile Elliott Highway. A game camera in the area captured images of him shortly before he was reported missing on August 3, 2019. In the photos, Hussen was wearing a dark baseball cap, a camouflage outer jacket over a dark hooded jacket, and dark pants. He was also carrying an Army-style sling bag.
