Amy Josephine Liebl was just 18 years old when she vanished on January 17, 1992, from The Village, a suburban enclave in the Oklahoma City metro area. Originally from New Ulm, Minnesota, Amy had also lived in Texas before settling in Oklahoma. Described as bubbly, fun-loving, and easy-going, Amy was navigating young adulthood with two jobs and a social circle that, while vibrant, included individuals involved in drug use. Her sudden disappearance left her family and community grappling with unanswered questions and a lingering sense of loss.
The Night She Disappeared
On the night of her disappearance, Amy was last seen at her residence on 1821 Westchester Drive, which she shared with her roommate, Larry Faulkenberry. According to Faulkenberry, around midnight, Amy entered a room with four Black men who were visiting her. When she returned, her eyes were dilated, leading Faulkenberry to speculate that she may have suffered a fatal cocaine overdose.
