Paget Renee Barr, born on December 30, 1956, in San Jose, California, was a vibrant 29-year-old mother of two daughters, Mandy and Maryanne, when she vanished without a trace on July 26, 1986, in Oroville, California. Known for her brown hair, brown eyes, and a distinctive scar between her eyes, Paget stood 5'4" tall and weighed approximately 120 pounds. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing blue jeans, a black pullover shirt, and white sandals .
On the morning of her disappearance, Paget accompanied a male acquaintance, Randy Worthington, to a Western Union office in Oroville to collect money. Later that day, she was last seen getting into a blue Datsun 280Z with her boyfriend, John Woolen, at the Oroville bus station . Woolen was known to be involved in methamphetamine production and was reportedly an enforcer for the Hells Angels motorcycle gang .
Paget's sudden disappearance raised immediate concerns among her family and friends. She left behind her two young daughters and failed to collect her last welfare check, an action that was out of character for her. Her mother reported her missing on August 1, 1986 . Despite efforts by the Butte County Sheriff's Department, no substantial leads emerged, and Paget's whereabouts remain unknown.
Authorities conducted an investigation into Paget's disappearance, focusing on her last known companion, John Woolen. Woolen, along with another Hells Angels associate, Odis "Buck" Garrett, had previously been suspected in the 1985 disappearance of another of Woolen's girlfriends, Rhonda Lynn Yocom. While Woolen was ruled out as a suspect in Yocom's case, he and Garrett remained persons of interest in Paget's disappearance . However, no charges were filed, and the case eventually went cold....Read More
