Duane Stuart Masher, a 55-year-old aeronautics engineer, lived a seemingly peaceful life in Coto de Caza, an affluent gated community in Orange County, California. On August 10, 2017, Duane and Jared had a phone conversation that ended in an argument. This was the last time Jared spoke with his father.
