A Routine Hunting Trip Turns Mysterious

On November 17, 1996, 29-year-old Richard Willis “Rick” Bendele set out for a pheasant hunting trip in the remote Laidlaw Park area of Blaine County, Idaho. Discovery of the Abandoned Truck

The following morning, search and rescue teams located Rick's truck near the Laidlaw Corral area north of Rupert, Idaho. The vehicle's window was smashed, and glass littered the ground. Inside the truck were Rick's coat, his cellular phone, and a shotgun borrowed from his recently deceased father. The truck's battery was found broken and tipped upside down. Rick's mother believed he would never have left his father's shotgun unattended, as he typically returned it to her immediately after use ....Read More
