On the evening of September 9, 2019, 77-year-old Anderson Singleton was last seen walking toward a fast-food restaurant located at 21-41 Mott Avenue in Queens, New York, around 6:30 PM. This seemingly routine outing marked the beginning of a perplexing mystery. Despite the bustling surroundings of the city, Singleton vanished without a trace, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions.
Anderson Singleton is described as a Black/African American male, standing 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds. At the time of his disappearance, he had gray or partially gray hair and brown eyes. Singleton was 77 years old when he went missing and would be 82 years old today.
Reports indicate that Singleton had a history of dementia, a condition that significantly increases the risk of wandering and getting lost. Despite this, it's noted that his family had not enrolled him in programs designed to assist individuals with such vulnerabilities. For instance, Project Lifesaver is a program that provides wearable tracking devices to individuals prone to wandering, allowing for quicker location by authorities. Similarly, the Medic Alert bracelet can provide essential identification information. Unfortunately, Singleton was not equipped with any such device at the time of his disappearance.
The New York City Police Department's Missing Persons Squad took charge of the investigation, assigning Detective Michael McDonough to the case. Despite their efforts, the case has remained unsolved. Singleton's profile was added to national missing person databases, including NamUs (National Missing and Unidentified Persons System), in hopes of generating leads. ...Read More
