A Journey Begins in the Shadows

Luis Murillo Gonzales, a 29-year-old man, embarked on a perilous journey on April 9, 2016, near Encino, Texas. He was part of a group of ten individuals traveling on foot through the challenging terrain of Brooks County, a region notorious for its harsh conditions and frequent encounters with Border Patrol agents. Luis contacted his family that night, informing them of his plans to start walking, marking the last direct communication they would have with him.  

A Disturbing Update

Three days later, on April 12, Luis's family received a distressing call from another member of the group. They were informed that Luis had become too exhausted to continue and was left behind with only a water bottle and a cellphone.
