A Routine Voyage Turns Tragic
On January 15, 1995, the fishing vessel F/V Northwest Mariner set out into the frigid waters of the Bering Sea, a routine journey for its seasoned crew. Among them was 25-year-old Robert Olson, a dedicated fisherman whose life revolved around the sea. The vessel, however, would never return to port. Tragically, it capsized, leading to the disappearance of Olson and three other crew members: Bruce Forde, James Foster, and Lawrence Johnston. Despite extensive search efforts, no trace of the men or the vessel was ever found.
